SRW: Can you tell me what I can use for dry nasal membranes? I did a Google search and some one suggested raw sesame oil (don’t know where to get it). Another person suggested emu oil. My nose has been so dry that it feels like it’s stuffed with cotton and it bleeds when I blow it. I don’t have a cold at all, just a dry nasal passage. Savannah R. Williams Chicago,IL Thehooddoctor: Get a humidifier in your home or boil some water with some peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil in it. Especially in your bedroom at night. Warmed sesame oil run over the forehead and massaged into the scalp is a good sinus cleansing. Also, if you do not have a humidifier try to get a Neti pot form the health food store and get some wild alum root and steep for 30 minutes like a tea. Cool to warm temperature and fill Neti pot. Turn head to the side and let the water fluid run through one nostril and come out the other to stop the bleeding. SRW: Thanks! This has been going on for about two weeks. Yesterday I blew my nose and had a nose bleed. I’ve never had a nose bleed in my life. I’ll look for some this weekend. Any suggestions what type of place I should look for some? Thehooddoctor: You can get the essential oils at a place Whole Foods, Walmart, or CVS. |
